Solar-Roasted Organic Coffee Selections

Our primates will acquire Primal Echo’s gourmet Java directly from a rural co–op of Costa Rican farmers who are committed to growing and tending organic coffee with care and respect for the land, their children’s health as well as a more sustainable planet.

We’ll buy green organic coffee beans to help ensure freshness in transit and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from traditional roasting. Instead, we’ll have them roasted in Pueblo, CO, by our partner solar roasters, two talented brothers with whom we share core values. This solar roasting duo even offsets its carbon emissions from their propane generator on cloudy or rainy days.

So Primal Echo and its partners can take great pride in providing an excellent product that we know has been sourced fairly and which represents a gentle footprint on the planet.

Our end product will be coffee that’s certified USDA organic, certified fair–trade by TransFair and carbon–friendly. We’ll purchase carbon offsets from the Colorado Carbon Fund to offset our transportation impact.

Tasters of our java agree: it tastes delicious!

Our roastmaster partner also gave our java excellent marks. Here’s what he had to say upon cupping our beans:

Light Roast:  “The aroma is welcoming, sweet, clean on the nose. The flavor likewise is very sweet. Great mouth feel, full texture on the tongue. The finish has excellent flavors of honeysuckle.  All in all a great light roast.”

Medium Roast: “The aroma is intriguing with a hint of sharpness. The body of the coffee is becoming more developed. The flavor rolls off your palate, quite mild, but surprisingly sweet. The finish is sweet, and lingers briefly before clearing to a clean palate.”

Dark Roast: “Aroma is full on the nose, smoky. The flavor is both smooth and smoky. The sweetness remains, but not in as much quantity. The sweetness is traded for full body. The flavor of this roast packs a punch; it explodes over your palate. The finish lingers, but it’s pleasant.”

In short, the quality of our brew will put a smile on your taste buds and a glow in your belly. We’ll let you know just as soon as we have our first shipment in 2010.
